India Test no.3 Cheteshwar Pujara has been given the green signal by the BCCI to play in the ongoing English county season. Cheteshwar Pujara is likely to feature for Leicestershire for the remainder of this season. Pujara is currently free from national duty as he doesn’t feature in the ODI or the T20I squads.

As we know Pujara along with Virat Kohli had a shocker of a series in England. Cheteshwar Pujara repeatedly got troubled by incoming deliveries that sneaked through his gate. The 26-year-old Cheteshwar Pujara was expected to do a lot in the 5-match Test Series but he could only score 222 runs in 10 innings with a mediocre average of 22.20. In the 10 innings, Pujara had just the one fifty which came during the first Test at Trent Bridge which finished in a draw on what was a placid batting track.

Although it is not yet confirmed to which English county, Pujara is going to play but Leicestershire is most likely to use his services in Division Two of the LV=County Championship 2014. In the past Leicestershire had signed Anil Kumble and Virender Sehwag as their overseas players from India.

It would be a great experience for Cheteshwar Pujara if he can play county cricket in tough swing and seaming conditions. It would only make him a better batsman than what he is today.
