Dale Steyn is one of the greatest ever fast bowlers in the history of cricket. Not that strongly built, the athletic looking Dale Steyn can bowl around 150 kmph thanks to his beautiful action and the perfect bio-mechanics involved in it. No batsman in the world would dare to get Dale Steyn angry as that would only fire up the latter in bowling as quick as possible.
The 5 ft 10 inch tall Dale Steyn not just has pace but has this great ability to swing the ball both ways and also get sideways movement off the pitch. He is a complete fast bowler who can adapt to all conditions – weather or pitch. When on song, Steyn can run through batting line-ups in a hurry.
Dale Steyn made his Test debut in 2004 as a 20-year-old and since then taking over from the great Allan Donald as South Africa’s strike bowler. Statistics suggest that Steyn hasn’t played a lot of international cricket despite being in the circuit for more than a decade. But that could be because of an out of out fast bowler’s risk of getting stress related injuries. South Africa have also rested Dale Steyn whenever possible. Despite all that Steyn has captured more than 400 Test wickets till date!
