England have gone in with a new leadership under the ice cool Eoin Morgan for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2015 to be played in Australia and New Zealand. The Selectors have been convinced that Alastair Cook isn’t the best of options as a limited overs’ opener and his captaincy in this format hasn’t been great either. Following the defeat in the 7-match ODI Series in Sri Lanka, the English Selectors have axed Alastair Cook from captaincy and also from the One Day team.

Cook’s vacant spot has been filled up by Yorkshire’s Gary Ballance. The left-handed Gary Ballance has been a steady figure for England in the recent times coming in at no.3 and scoring runs consistently at the Test level. He has played just a dozen ODIs so far and has only limited success with two half centuries.

The English Selectors have also sacked all-rounder Ben Stokes who has this ability to blow hot and cold despite having talent with both the ball and the bat. Another player with similar ability – Chris Woakes finds a place in the England World Cup Squad.

England have gone in with just the one specialist spinner in James Tredwell while there is always Moeen Ali to chip in with a few overs as well. Overall the English team looks strong on paper with James Anderson, Stuart Broad and Steven Finn in the bowling department.

The batting also looks pretty good for England with Ian Bell, Eoin Morgan, Joe Root and Ravi Bopara forming the crux while there is abundance of talent in Alex Hales, Jos Buttler, Moeen Ali and James Taylor.

England who are yet to win a Cricket World Cup are placed in Pool A alongside Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Scotland and New Zealand.
