Ind vs Eng 2nd Test Day 2 Highlights : England crumbled to 103 for 5 in the second Test at Vizag on Friday, Day 2 after bowling out India for 455.

The hosts are already in the driver’s seat with England trailing behind 352 runs with Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow new at the crease.

Earlier, India was frittering away its first day’s advantage having resumed play at 317 for 4. Quick wickets dented their progress and prevented them from a big total.

At one point of time, India slipped to 363 for 7 before off-spinners R Ashwin and debutant Jayant Yadav came up with a superb partnership of 64.

Skipper Virat Kohli added 16 more runs to his overnight 151 before he edged a cover drive off a straighter one from Moeen Ali to slip. Kohli’s 167 came in 267 balls with 18 fours.

Moeen Ali then went on to remove Wriddhiman Saha and Ravindra Jadeja in the space of three balls. Saha was lbw for 3 after going too back in the crease and missing a turning ball around off while Jadeja was lbw to an arm ball for a duck.

R Ashwin defied England after that to score a superb 58 from 95 balls with 8 fours. Jayant Yadav supported him with 35 in what was only his first test innings.

England in their first innings lost Skipper Alastair Cook in the third over for 2 when Mohammed Shami broke his off stump with a speedy delivery through the gate.

Young opener Haseeb Hameed scratched to 13 from 50 balls before he was run out by the brilliant combination of Jayant Yadav whose throw from deep squareleg was flicked back on to the stumps by Wriddhiman Saha who did a Dhoni like trick.

Ben Duckett continued to look unconvincing, and got out again to R Ashwin, this time clean bowled for 5 by one that drifted in but turned away enough to hit the middle stump.

Joe Root was the only man scoring for England, and when he holed out to long off with a big shot in Ravi Ashwin’s bowling for a 98-ball 53, the tourists had only 79 on the board with four down.

By the close of play, Jayant Yadav claimed his first test wicket when Moeen Ali (1) jumped out of the crease but was hit by a full ball that came in with the arm. The wicket came through following a successful DRS review taken by the Indians.

England lost five wickets in just 49 overs leaving themselves little chance for a draw with three full days to go.
