Ind vs Eng 3rd Test Day 2 Highlights : The third India vs England Test match at Mohali is beautifully poised as the visitors fought back to reduce the hosts to 271 for 6 in reply to their total of 283 on Sunday.

Things would have been much brighter for England but for the unbroken seventh wicket stand of 67 between R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja which has reduced the gap between the two sides to 12 runs.

Going into the third day’s play on Monday, the test match is in the balance if both the teams having equal opportunities to call the shots.

England have done well to ensure that India did not take charge after getting bowled out for a modest total.

India after a decent start lost Murali Vijay in the 15th over, caught behind off Ben Stokes for 12. Parthiv Patel, who opened the innings along with him, played well for his 42 before he was lbw to leggie Adil Rashid.

Things settled as Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli grinded the English attack. However, against the run of play, Cheteshwar Pujara got brilliantly caught by a diving Chris Woakes at deep squareleg for 51 when he pulled a long hop from Adil Rashid.

The third wicket stand between Pujara and Kohli took India to 148 for 3 by adding 75 runs.

In less than two overs, Ajinkya Rahane was dismissed for a duck by an Adil Rashid googly that trapped him lbw. The next over saw debutant Karun Nair run out by Jos Buttler from point for 4.

It was match on at 156 for 5 but Virat Kohli alongside R Ashwin steadied things again. Kohli was dismissed, poking Ben Stokes outside off to get caught behind for 62.

Before stumps, Ravindra Jadeja with an attacking 31 not out with R Ashwin (57 not out) rescued India to make sure that England did not run through the Indian line-up in the fading light conditions.
