Ind vs Eng 3rd Test Day 4 Highlights : India eased to an 8-wicket win in the Mohali test on Tuesday to take a 2-0 lead against England in the ongoing 5-match Test series.

On day four, the match ended with India needing to chase a small target of 103 which was done and dusted in 20.2 overs with Parthiv Patel helping himself to 67 not out from just 54 balls with 11 fours and a six.

Murali Vijay was dismissed for a duck by Chris Woakes while Cheteshwar Pujara fell for 25 to Adil Rashid. Virat Kohli with 6 not out finished the match with opener and keeper Parthiv Patel.

Earlier, seeing off stiff resistance from Joe Root (78 from 179 balls) and an injured Haseeb Hameed (59 not out from 156 balls), India bowled out England for 236 in their second innings. Chris Woakes contributed 30 while Jos Buttler could only score 18 in the crunch situation.


England had resumed day four at 78 for 4 with Joe Root and night watchman Gareth Batty at the crease, with a deficit of 56 more runs to clear and make India bat again.

Barring Umesh Yadav, all the Indian bowlers got amongst the wickets in the English second innings. R Ashwin took three wickets out of the four that fell on day three while Mohammed Shami and spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Jayant Yadav took two wickets each.

Ravindra Jadeja who scored a crucial knock of 90 on Monday besides taking a total of four wickets was named as the Man of the Match.

India now cannot lose the series with only two tests remaining. The series now moves to Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium which will host the fourth test from December 8, giving an unusually long break for the players.
