Pakistan got off to a decent start at 64 for no loss after Dinesh Chandimal’s 155 not out carried Sri Lanka to 419 on Friday after stumps on Day 2 of the Pak vs SL 1st Test at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Batting first after winning the toss, Sri Lanka were in early trouble at 61 for 3 before Skipper Dinesh Chandimal rescued them with a century partnership for the fourth wicket with opener Dimuth Karunaratne who scored 93 (from 205 balls).

Sri Lanka got another good partnership, this time between Dinesh Chandimal and Wicket Keeper Niroshan Dickwella who added 134 runs for the fifth wicket.

Niroshan Dickwella scored a well-paced 83 from 117 balls.

Dinesh Chandimal did well with the tail to stretch the Lankans from 295 for 5 to 419 with the innings lasting 154.5 overs. The Sri Lankan Captain faced 372 balls while hitting 14 fours in what was his ninth Test century.

The Pak vs SL 2017 Test Series in UAE comprises two Tests with the second Test being a historic day/night affair at Dubai. The Dubai Test match will mark Sri Lanka’s debut day night Test while the venue had last year hosted a day night Test between Pakistan and West Indies.

Apart from the two Tests, Sri Lanka will also play five ODIs and three T20Is with the final T20I to be played at Lahore on 29 October.
