Phillip Hughes is a left-handed opening batsman who has a technique of his own but has a temperament which produces big runs whenever he gets going. Phillip Hughes who was also a talented rugby league player made his Test Debut against South Africa at Johannesburg at the age of just 20. After the retirement of Matthew Hayden and Justin Langer, Australia is looking at Phillip Hughes to fill one of the openers’ role.
Phillip Hughes is a very short man at a height of 5 ft 5 inches and his ability lies in using the bowler’s pace effectively. He is very strong square of the wicket on the off side and plays some flamboyant drives through the off side.
