The Selectors are believed to have picked the squad with an eye on the 2015 World Cup. Sanju Samson who is just 19 years of age has forced his way into the national side following a tremendous show in Australia in the Quadrangular A Series. Samson has caught the attention of the cricketing world with some of his superb knocks in the Indian Premier League while playing for the Rajasthan Royals. The Kerala boy will have to wait for his turn as he will have to compete with Skipper MS Dhoni for the wicket keeper’s slot.

The other new inclusion in the Indian team is Railways leggie Karn Sharma who has impressed everyone through his IPL performance for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Karn Sharma gets his opportunity because of the omission of fellow leg-spinner Amit Mishra who is currently undergoing rehab from a back injury.

Meanwhile, the Selectors have rewarded Mumbai seamer Dhawal Kulkarni for his successful down under tour of Australia with India A. The 25-year-old Dhawal Kulkarni had been selected in the Indian team before but failed to make his international debut.

The Selectors have retained the likes of Stuart Binny, Mohit Sharma, Umesh Yadav and AT Rayudu. The five-match ODI Series begins from August 25th. The tour of England ends with the only T20I which will be held on September 7th.
