In today’s match of ICC World Cup 2015 between West Indies and Pakistan, West Indies gets a big win over Pakistan with a difference of 150 runs.
West Indies has set a target of 311 runs for Pakistan. West Indies which did batting first scored 310 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Pakistan batting line-up which came to the field to chase a target of 310 runs failed badly and could not withstand Caribbean bowlers.
Highlights of Pakistan Innings:
Pakistan Innings came to an end in just 39 overs and could score only 160 runs. Pakistan Batsmen were dismissed in the start itself by the West Indies bowlers, The first wicket Nasir Jamshed was lost without scoring any runs and in the last ball of the first over Younis Khan was out without scoring anything.
Haris Sohail wicket was lost in the last ball of second over and in the first ball of the third over Ahmed Shehzad gave his wicket with just one run.
Afterwards Pakistan Captain Misbah-ul-Haq and Sohaib Maqsood who came to the crease gave a break to fall of wickets for some time. When the team score was 25, 5th wicket of Misbah-ul-Haq, who made 7 runs was lost under Russell’s bowling and was sent to pavilion.
Wicket Keeper Umar Akmal and Sohaib Maqsood tried their level best to save Pakistan innings and scored runs in their style whenever they got a chance. This pair played an important role to make the score to reach 100. Sohaib Maqsood scored half century and gave a catch to Benn under Sammy bowling. With the Sohaib’s dismissal, the 6th wicket partnership of 80 runs came to an end.
Later Umar tried to improve the score with Afridi and he scored 59 runs from 71 balls when he was caught by Smith under Russell’s bowling. Later Pakistan lost other wickets of Wahab Riaz 3, Shahid Afridi 28, Sohail Khan 1 and completed the innings with just 150 runs.
Pakistan lost the first match against India and now by losing the 2nd match again, it fell down to last place in the points table.
West Indies bowlers Jerome Taylor and Andre Russell took 3 wickets each, Sulieman Benn took 2 wickets and Jaso Holder and Darren Sammy took one wicket each.

West Indies actually loss the toss but was asked to bat first. They scored 310 runs in 50 overs with the loss of 6 wickets. Denesh Ramdin scored 51 runs in 43 balls with 7 4’s. Lendi Simmons scored 50 in 46 balls with 4 boundaries and 2 sixers. Darren Bravo scored 49 in 78 balls with 3 4’s. Andre Russell scored 42 runs in just 17 balls by hitting 3 4’s and 4 6’s. With the Russells intense batting West Indies score reached more than 300.
In the beginning, West Indies lost the openers Chris Gayle (4) and Dwayne Smith (23) after scoring 28 runs. Then Darren Bravo came into crease and played defensively with Marlon Samuels. Marlon Samuels scored 38 runs and was caught by Yasir Shah under Sohail’s bowling. The 3rd wicket partnership of 75 runs came to an end by losing Samuels wicket. This is the highest partnership in the West Indies Innings. Later Darren Bravo tried to play his best innings with Ramdin, who came to bat. But he was retired hurt due to pain in his left leg when he was at 49 runs.
Lendi Simmons came in place of Bravo and along with Ramdin tried to build the innings. Ramdin who scored 51 was also sent to pavilion by Sohail. At that point of innings, West Indies were 194 with the loss of 4 wickets. Sammy who came at that time played fastly with Simmons with good coordination and moved the scoreboard to high score.
Sammy who was playing nicely at 30 was caught by Shahid Afridi and broke the 65 runs partnership for the 5th wicket. Simmons played with Russell and scored well. Simmons completed 50 runs at this point of time. Russell scored intensively in the last over. He got 22 runs in the 49th over.
West Indies scored 79 runs in just last 5 overs of the match. Pakistan bowlers Sohail took 2 wickets and Wahab Riaz, Sohail Khan and Mohammad Irfan took one wicket each.
